The latest buzz....The city should come inspect our structure tomorrow (Monday). Meanwhile, we put in the deck from the carport to the shed, and put up the railings on that side. We're very pleased with the outcome.

For unto us.....in the midst of it all.....

The latest buzz....MERRY, MERRY CHRISTMAS! We were up at 5:45 this morning. We had juice and the traditional fruit (oranges and grapefruit, with cherries). We then carried our coffee into the living room and started opening presents. Great fun!



The latest buzz...After I made two batches of fattigman, Judi found me a fattigman cutter for Christmas. It's too cool. It does everything, cutting each side and making the little cut in the center.



Barry still gets his mouth washed out with soap.





The latest buzz..."Obviously, they saved the best picture for last. Have a meow-volous Christmas.

The latest buzz... All the rafters are up! Yesssss! Still have some work to do on attaching them to the outside beams, but the main "high-work" is done. Next up, inspection and then plywood.

The lates buzz...We're working hard on getting the rafters up. The last photo shows where we were by Sunday. Today, I put up 5 more rafters before the rain came. 11 more rafters to go. Then, we can get the city to come do their last inspection. We're getting closer all the time.

The latest buzz...We made Fattigman! It was great! Even better...Judi finds them just as addictive as I do.

The latest buzz....After the big storm the other day, it rained from all through last night, and then turned to sleet and snow.



The latest buzz....At least I was able to do a bit of touch up work when the sleet was coming down.

The latest buzz....I'm almost done with the ridge beam supports. About another day of work, and I can start cutting and putting up the rafters. Oh, what I'd give for 2 weeks of nice weather.

The latest buzz....We're ready to move up...as in up to the roof. With all the angled supports in place, I'm getting my weekend plan ready so we might have a shot at raising the ridge beam. That will be a big task, and I'm hoping to have some good caver-help to get it done.

The latest buzz....All the angled braces are in place!

The latest buzz...."Looking Better!" All of the temporary supports and braces have been removed. Still need to add four more angled braces, but then will move up and start on the ridge beam supports. Time for the "high-wire act."

The latest buzz....[EARLY MORNING SUCCESS!] "BARRY & JUDI PULL OFF TRIPLE-PLAY!" This morning, Judi and I raised the ridge beam up on the front and back short beams. We then raised the two center short beams up into place. It was just amazing. Now I have lots of drilling and bolting to do today.

The latest buzz....We got the 45 degree, angled braces up on each corner yesterday.

The latest buzz...After it rained all day yesterday, I finally got outside today to do a little work. We now have all 32 posts up - all 8 columns standing. Tomorrow, I'll start on the 45 degree angled supports.
